About Investor

William (Bill) E. Ford is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of General Atlantic, leading its global growth equity investment platform from New York and Miami. Under his leadership, General Atlantic has expanded to operations in about 20 countries and roughly $114 billion in assets under management, investing in technology, consumer, financial services, healthcare, life sciences and climate-focused companies. Public disclosures indicate that the firm typically provides growth capital cheques ranging from around $25 million up to several hundred million per company, with some transactions approaching $1 billion. Ford joined General Atlantic in 1991, became CEO in 2007 and Chairman in 2021, and currently serves on boards including BlackRock and ByteDance alongside major academic and nonprofit institutions. He holds a BA in economics from Amherst College and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
