About Investor

Tommy Ahlers (born 18 November 1975) is a Partner at Giant Ventures (UK-based purpose-driven VC), through which he continues investing following Giant's 2024 acquisition of Look Up Ventures — the Copenhagen-based climate and deep-tech VC he co-founded in 2022 with Nicolaj Reffstrup, backing science-based startups from pre-seed to Series A combating the climate emergency and biodiversity loss. He concurrently serves as Chairman of the Board of Metroselskabet (Copenhagen Metro, since May 2025) and Chairman of CONCITO (Denmark's leading climate think tank, since April 2024), and is an Adjunct Professor at DTU Entrepreneurship at the Technical University of Denmark (since 2023). A well-known figure in the Danish startup ecosystem, Tommy previously appeared as an investor on Denmark's Dragons' Den ("Løvens hule"). He founded and led ZYB (mobile company, sold to Vodafone 2008) and Podio (workplace collaboration platform, acquired by Citrix 2012 for approximately $53M). He served as Denmark's Minister of Higher Education and Science (May 2018–June 2019, Lars Løkke Rasmussen III Cabinet) and Venstre's spokesperson for climate, leaving politics in August 2021 to return to business and the green transition. He holds a Master of Law (cand.jur.) from the University of Copenhagen.
