Teddy Blank is Principal (and Partner-level investor) at First Star Ventures, a Cambridge-based deep tech and software-focused seed fund. He typically backs pre-seed and seed companies, with selective follow-on through Series A, in sectors such as deep tech, enterprise software and consumer internet, with an investment range of $100K to $10.0M and a sweet spot around $1M. His background is as an operator and founder: he co-founded Tempo, a privacy-preserving marketplace for biometric data from elite athletes, and previously helped scale a SaaS startup from about 10 to more than 120 employees while serving as Director of Sales and Business Development. He also worked at Symphony Commerce and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and an undergraduate degree from Amherst College.
