Takaaki Ishii is Senior Investment Director at Taiho Ventures. He focuses on oncology-related biotech and therapeutics, as well as broader pharmaceutical and healthcare opportunities, typically backing early-stage companies from seed through Series B with check sizes running from around $100K into the low millions. A molecular biologist by training, he joined Taiho Ventures in 2019 after more than a decade in oncology at Taiho Pharmaceutical working on early-stage clinical development, portfolio strategy and scientific evaluation of in-house and partnered programs.
