Somasegar (“Soma”) Somasegar is a Managing Director at Madrona Ventures. He backs early-stage technology companies, with a focus that includes applied AI, cloud infrastructure, and AR/VR, typically at pre-seed through seed (and supporting companies as they scale), with an investment range of $500K–$10.0M. Before investing, he spent more than two decades at Microsoft, where he led the Developer Division (including Visual Studio and .NET) and oversaw multiple Microsoft R&D labs globally. At Madrona, he’s also been closely involved in helping portfolio teams translate deep technical bets into products that can actually ship.
