Shun Watanabe is a Managing Director in the Portfolio Group at Bain Capital and a member of the Asia Pacific Private Equity team in Tokyo. He works across Bain’s portfolio on growth strategy, new business development, organizational transformation and operational reform, particularly for retail and consumer-facing companies. His investments are typically later-stage private equity deals where Bain holds control or significant minority stakes, with transaction sizes often in the $1M to $100.0M range. Prior to joining Bain Capital he was a principal at The Boston Consulting Group in Tokyo, focusing on retail growth and operations, and earlier worked in HR at Recruit Holdings.
