Sean Mendy is Co-Founding Partner at Westbound Equity Partners (formerly Concrete Rose Capital), a Palo Alto-based early-stage investment firm with 69 investments and 6 exits (including CareCar, September 2025), backing exceptional talent with financial and social capital. Westbound deploys $100K-$5M into pre-seed through Series A companies — investing in Black and Latinx founders, companies serving underrepresented communities, and any founder committed to building diverse teams — using a rigorous 12-dimension investment rubric to counter Silicon Valley's "gut feel" bias. The firm pledges 50% of its profits to community foundations, creating a structural cycle where financial returns fund nonprofit pipelines for underrepresented talent. Sixth Street is a founding strategic partner. A Bay Area native, Sean spent a decade as an executive at Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula in East Palo Alto. He holds a BA from Cornell University (soccer player), and advanced degrees in business and policy from Stanford University and USC.
