Prem Bodagala is Senior Vice President, Venture and Director, ID Ventures at Invest Detroit, based in Ann Arbor and focused on Michigan’s tech ecosystem. Through his prior roles at Michigan Rise and Red Cedar Ventures he has typically invested $50K–$250K (sweet spot about $150K) at pre-seed and seed stages in marketplaces, enterprise software and SaaS companies, largely in the Midwest. He has over a decade of venture experience, having overseen early-stage funds totaling roughly $40M AUM and helping build a portfolio of 100+ startups that collectively raised hundreds of millions in follow-on capital. Earlier, he was Director at Invest Michigan and Portfolio Manager at the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, after starting his VC career with Michigan Accelerator Fund-I.
