Prashant Shah is a Partner at Monta Vista Capital, concentrating on investments in Developer Tools, Cloud Infrastructure, Space, Health IT, Enterprise, Health & Hospital Services, Digital Health, and SaaS at the Seed and Series A stages, with investment ranges typically between $100K and $1M. He has been an early stage venture investor since 2001 when he was with Hummer Winblad Venture Partners, an early stage VC focused on enterprise and infrastructure software. Prior to Hummer Winblad, he spent many years defining and launching high tech products, with his background spanning all seven layers of the OSI stack, including product management roles at enCommerce (acquired by Entrust), Cypress Semiconductor and AT&T. He received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
