Michael Hoeksema is a Principal at Battery Ventures in New York City, having joined the firm in 2017. He focuses on mobile, internet and SaaS/software across application software, infrastructure software and consumer, typically investing at Seed and Series A in sectors such as transportation technology, cloud infrastructure, IoT, enterprise infrastructure and SaaS with check sizes from $2.5M to $60M. His portfolio work spans companies including Array, Bitwarden, CarNow, Code Ocean, Coram, Cube, Levelpath, Mattermost, Obie, Repeat and VNDLY. Before Battery, he was an analyst at JMI Equity, sourcing software investments and leading sector research in manufacturing, automotive and banking. He started his career as a summer analyst at North Bridge Growth Equity and holds a BA in Economics from Amherst College, where he played varsity soccer.
