Matt Turk is a Senior Data Scientist at Cleanlab and a Deep Tech Scout for DeepChecks, based in New York. He invests as an angel/scout in Seed-stage companies across developer tools, analytics, data services, AI (including generative AI), Web3/crypto, consumer internet and fintech, typically writing checks in the $50K to $10M range. His investment track record includes early positions in companies such as Koywe, Double, Minerva and InvestEd. He has several years of machine-learning research experience and previously worked as a quant researcher, prop trader and data scientist at firms including Goldman Sachs, Coinbase and Goodwater Capital, alongside ML research roles at UC Berkeley. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from the University of California, Berkeley.
