Matt Downs is Co-CEO and Managing Partner of Sandbox Industries and a Managing Director at the Blue Venture Fund, with a long-time focus on healthcare innovation. He typically invests $1M–$20.0M per deal, with a sweet spot around $10.5M, focusing on AgTech, digital health, health IT and health services at Series A and B, with strong exposure to the U.S. Midwest. At Sandbox and Blue Venture Fund he guides investment strategy and capital deployment and sits on boards such as Lumeris, Perspectum, Somatus and Solera Health. He joined Sandbox in its early years and has since been closely involved in payer- and provider-focused innovation, including data-driven healthcare analytics and AI-enabled prior-authorization solutions like Verata Health and Sempre Health.
