Lisa Barclay was Executive Director of Investments at Nesta Impact Investments, where she led Nesta’s direct impact investment activity supporting transformational technology ventures. Nesta has said the team invests £500,000 to £1 million in Seed-to-Series A startups, with the ability to invest up to £4 million over multiple rounds. Her investment themes at Nesta included education, food systems, health, and climate. Barclay has spent more than two decades in impact investing and previously worked as a political adviser in the UK, including with Gordon Brown.
