About Investor

Lewam Kefela serves as a Principal on Partech Africa's investment team, the largest Africa-focused VC with approximately $450M in assets under management across two funds, investing from Seed+ to Series C stage with ticket sizes between $1M and $15M. She began her career at a US fintech startup that went on to IPO, and subsequently joined the Carlyle Group, focusing on emerging markets private equity. Prior to joining Partech, she was an Investment Director at Village Capital, where she led the investment team and invested in startups in the US, India, Latin America, and Africa. She co-founded The Africa Playbook, a series of newsletters and conversations focused on telling Africa's growth story. She has over ten years of investing and operations experience focusing on emerging markets and graduated from the College of William & Mary with a degree in Finance and Development Economics. She is based in Nairobi, Kenya.
