Josh Plavner is Managing Partner at East Wave Partners, based in Boston, Massachusetts, a role he has held since January 2025. He previously spent six years at Bain Capital Partnership Strategies (2018-2024), rising to Managing Director, where he invested in GP stakes and partnership-oriented vehicles alongside selective early-stage and growth co-investments across insurance, real estate/proptech, biotech, e-commerce, enterprise applications, fintech, and health IT. Before Bain Capital, he was a Managing Director at White Elm Capital, an equity long/short hedge fund, and earlier worked at Berkshire Partners and in the Private Equity Group at Goldman Sachs. He holds an economics degree from Yale University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
