Joseph Pizzolato is Founder and Managing/General Partner at Defiant VC, a new European venture firm he co-founded with Cam Rail, launched in January 2025 and based in London and Lisbon. Defiant focuses on B2B SaaS and FinTech at late seed and Series A, investing between $1M and $10M per deal, and distinctively dedicates a third of its operating budget to building proprietary data and AI products to support its investment process, having raised $30M toward a target of $70M for its debut fund. He previously spent several years as an investor at Felix Capital, focusing on Web3/Blockchain, Payments, E-commerce, SaaS, and FinTech at Series A and B, with portfolio companies including re:cap, SellerX, Rally, Juni, and Ledger, and earlier worked at Vitruvian Partners. He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Sydney and is a CFA charterholder. He is based in London, United Kingdom.
