James Smits is a Venture Partner at KohFounders, a pre-seed fund supporting early-stage startups, with his investing activity spanning hubs such as New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Boston. He typically invests $25K to $300K from pre-seed through Seed and Series A across advertising, agtech, consumer health, social networks, IoT, SaaS, enterprise software, and fintech. Alongside his role at KohFounders, he is Co-Founder and COO of Andrena, a venture-backed broadband company, and a Venture Partner at Hypothesis, having previously served as a Venture Partner at Beta Bridge Capital, Program Director at Tigerlabs, and Business Development Associate at Banyan Water. He holds an A.B. in Economics from Princeton University and has also been an Honorary Fellow at the University of Melbourne.
