Helga Mikkelsen is an Investment Manager at Brandon Capital Partners, Australasia's leading life science venture capital investor, concentrating on investments in Medical Devices, Pharmaceuticals, Education, BioTech, Health & Hospital Services, and Therapeutics at pre-seed and seed stages, with checks between $1.5M and $5.0M. Before joining Brandon Capital in 2018, she was part of the founding team of portfolio company Respirion Pharmaceuticals, a spinout from The Kids Research Institute Australia, developing a novel treatment for respiratory disease, and previously worked on anti-infective medical devices in Cambridge, UK. She is a director of Respirion Pharmaceuticals and a board observer of OncoRes Medical and Azura Ophthalmics. She holds a Bachelor's and Master's in Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology from the Technical University of Denmark, a PhD in Microbiology from the University of Cambridge, and conducted postdoctoral research at Imperial College London. She is based in Perth, Western Australia.
