George Tziralis is a Partner at Marathon Venture Capital in Athens, investing in globally ambitious founders with roots in Greece. He typically writes $100K–$5.0M checks, with a sweet spot around $1.5M, across pre-seed and seed in sectors such as biotech, medical devices, cybersecurity, education and pharmaceuticals. His background is a mix of research and ecosystem-building: he spun out of a PhD in engineering/economics, created one of Greece’s earliest founder communities, and later helped build Marathon into a dedicated seed fund for Greek founders worldwide.
