Fred Ellis is a Partner at Next47 (N47), Siemens' corporate venture capital firm, based in London. He joined Next47 in 2025 after four years investing at Octopus Ventures, one of Europe's largest and most active venture investors with £1.3 billion under management, where he led investments in AI/ML infrastructure, vertical SaaS, and B2B marketplaces, including Contingent, which raised $8.2m to fix broken procurement processes. He has extensive experience in the UK and European B2B software sector, and previously worked in VP Corporate Development at HubX and in Investment Banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. He holds a BA in Classics from the University of Oxford.
