Evan Caron is co-founder and Chief Investment Officer of Montauk Capital (also branded as Montauk Climate), a venture platform and studio that builds and backs companies for the energy transition and the broader “electron economy.” He is Managing Director at Riverstone Ventures, with an investment range of $250K to $5.0M and a $500K sweet spot, investing mainly in seed and Series A companies across AgTech, transportation technology, climate and cleantech, energy tech, IoT, cybersecurity, smart cities, supply-chain tech and related fintech. His background spans more than 20 years in energy and commodities, including serving as head of venture investments at Riverstone Holdings, CEO and co-founder of ClearTrace, co-founder of Daylight Energy and HGP Storage, and earlier roles in trading, structuring and risk management at Deutsche Bank, Mercuria and Trailstone.
