Doug Applegate is Associate Director of the Purdue Innovates Incubator at Purdue Research Foundation, where he supports Purdue-connected founders through acceleration and investment programs. His investing activity focuses on Purdue-linked startups in sectors such as AR/VR, AgTech, IoT, smart cities, AI, SaaS, web3/blockchain, consumer internet and enterprise software, typically at pre-seed and seed stage, with an investment range of about $1 to $200K. He has a long track record in the Indiana startup ecosystem, including leading the gBETA Agbioscience accelerator and serving as Community Manager at the Indiana IoT Lab. His background spans sales and retention leadership, go-to-market strategy, and advising Fortune 500 companies, nonprofits and venture-backed startups, and he holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from Indiana University Bloomington.
