About Investor

Don Burton is the Managing Partner at LearnStart, where he focuses on investments in Human Capital/HRTech, Education, and SaaS companies at Seed stage with an investment range of $500K - $1.8M. Burton has had a career at the cutting edge of education innovation and technology, launching, scaling, and exiting companies. As a strategic advisor, he has worked with McKinsey & Co. and Goldman Sachs; as an intrapreneur, he built education startups within large companies such as Walt Disney Company and Kaplan; and as an entrepreneur, he has built multiple edtech startups with a major exit to Kaplan/Washington Post. He has been a successful edtech investor with a portfolio of more than 30 startups via Learning Edge and has run Startup Accelerator programs that have graduated three cohorts which raised more than $100M in financing. Burton graduated from Harvard Business School and Duke University, and operates across New York City and the San Francisco Bay Area.
