About Investor

David Li is Lead Principal at BHP Ventures, the corporate venture arm of Australian mining giant BHP, where he helps identify energy, climate, and mining startups, and played a key role in the company's investment in Field AI, a robotics autonomy startup. He was previously a founding member and Senior Principal at Avanta Ventures, the CVC arm of CSAA Insurance Group (now idle), focusing on Series A and B investments in TransportationTech, E-commerce, Marketplaces, Insurance, Real Estate/PropTech, SMB Software, Logistics, FinTech, and AutoTech, with checks between $1M and $10.0M. Earlier in his career, he was a venture investor at Longitude Capital, worked in product operations at Pivotal Software, and began his career in investment banking at Lazard. He holds a BS in Business Administration from UC Berkeley and an MBA from The Wharton School. He is based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
