David C. Hodgson is Vice Chairman and a Managing Director at General Atlantic, a global growth-focused private equity firm based in New York. He typically backs large growth and late-stage investments in sectors such as biotech, pharmaceuticals, human capital/HR tech, health IT, digital health and healthcare services, with check sizes in the $20.0M to $100.0M range. After joining General Atlantic in 1982 as the firm’s third investment professional, he has spent over four decades helping build the platform and supporting entrepreneurs worldwide, and he currently also serves as Chair of the Board at TriNet and on the board of Johns Hopkins Medicine.
