Dan Cummings is a Partner and Chairman of Bain Capital Real Estate and a founding member of Bain Capital’s real estate business. His investing centers on real-estate–focused strategies, including operating platforms and property-backed businesses, with external venture databases tagging him to web3/crypto, insurance, real estate/proptech, and fintech at seed through Series B in the $1M to $100.0M range (though his primary work is larger buyout and real estate transactions). Previously he was Managing Director and Head of Real Estate at Harvard Management Company, where he led the endowment’s $6 billion direct real estate portfolio, and he has decades of experience in institutional real estate investing.
