Claude Ritter is Co-Founder and Managing Partner at NAP (formerly Cavalry Ventures), a Berlin-based pre-seed and seed venture capital firm investing in European technology companies. NAP rebranded from Cavalry Ventures in February 2025, retaining the same team and investment philosophy. The firm backs "nerds and pioneers" — expert founders with deep technical or domain expertise tackling hard, non-obvious problems — writing EUR 1–4M initial checks with follow-on reserves across Enterprise Software, Developer Tools & Infrastructure, Climate & Clean Energy, Security & Cybersecurity, and FinTech & Payments. NAP has 84 portfolio companies including Aleph Alpha, Ampeco, Flip, PlanRadar, Usercentrics, BRYTER, Clarisights, Enzai, and Oblivious, with notable Series A follow-ons from Accel, Index, Sequoia, and Benchmark. Claude co-founded Cavalry Ventures in 2015/2016 and continues to lead NAP alongside co-founder Stefan Walter. The firm operates out of Berlin and is backed by a network of 250+ well-connected individuals. Claude brings extensive experience investing in and supporting European tech startups from pre-product through to scale.
