Clarence Yunze Deng is a Principal at Bain Capital based in Hong Kong, investing out of the Asia Pacific private equity team. His focus spans technology, media & telecommunications and consumer & retail, including themes such as fintech, e-commerce, real estate/PropTech, biotech, and health & hospital services, typically at seed and later growth stages, with check sizes in the roughly $100K to $5M range for venture-style deals and much larger for Bain’s private equity transactions. Before joining Bain Capital in 2018, he worked in J.P. Morgan’s investment banking division in Hong Kong, advising consumer and retail companies on M&A and capital markets transactions. Clarence holds a BSc in Mathematics and Economics from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, with an exchange year at Columbia University.
