About Investor

Chris Wu is Vice President of Oceans on the Builders Initiative investment team at Builders Vision and also serves as an Adjunct Instructor of Finance at Loyola University Chicago, based in Chicago. As an impact investor, he focuses on early-stage climate and environmental sustainability, social impact, education, health IT, material science and fintech, typically backing pre-seed and seed companies with check sizes between $50K and $500K, with a sweet spot around $250K. His background includes serving as Vice President (previously Senior Associate) at Impact Engine and spending a decade as a structural engineering consultant on municipal water infrastructure and LEED Platinum green buildings, as well as a period as owner and head baker of a small mill & bakery, and he holds BS and MS degrees in Civil/Structural Engineering plus an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.
