About Investor

Carly Anderson, PhD, is Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Timescale Ventures, an early-stage venture firm backing founders transforming critical industries, partnering with pre-seed and seed-stage software and hardware companies leveraging emerging technologies. She previously spent time as a Principal at Prelude Ventures, an early-stage climate-focused venture firm, where she was deeply involved in investments in energy generation, carbon removal, and industrial automation, serving as board observer for companies including Pyka, Ebb Carbon, Xcimer Energy, Thea Energy, Fleet Robotics, Graphyte, and Vaulted Deep. Before that, she was a Chemical Engineer and Partner at deep tech venture firm Prime Movers Lab, and was the first engineer hired at CO2 capture startup Mosaic Materials (acquired by Baker Hughes). She began her career developing and deploying technologies in commercial nuclear power plants with engineering firm DEI. She holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University and a PhD from UC Berkeley. She is based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
