About Investor

Cainon Coates is Founder and Managing Partner at Koru Capital, a US-based venture firm he launched drawing on his prior track record of deploying over $150M across 200+ companies. He also serves as Portfolio Manager, Venture Capital at GatePass Capital and as an Advisor at eFuse. Previously, he was Managing Partner at Alumni Ventures, where he led the MIT-affiliated fund, investing in IoT, SaaS, and enterprise software from seed to Series B. Earlier in his career, he co-founded and helped build several companies including Viafy (acquired by Constellation Software), Human Design Medical (merged with GE's Breas Medical), Triangle Research Labs (acquired by Lonza), Revive Pharmaceuticals (acquired by Concordia Healthcare), and University Laundry (acquired by P&G's Tide). He also worked at PBM Capital, Boston Consulting Group, Goldman Sachs, and NASA. He holds an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management and a BS from the University of Virginia. He is based in New York.
