About Investor

Bogdan Cristei is Co-Founder and Partner at SHACK15 Ventures, where he invests in early-stage DeepTech and AI startups with a focus on automation, robotics, and AI infrastructure, a role he has held since January 2024. He previously spent three years as an Investor at Union Labs Ventures, a deep tech seed-stage fund, and before that at Evergy Ventures, a climate growth fund, focusing on Robotics, Real Estate/PropTech, EnergyTech, ClimateTech/CleanTech, Manufacturing, AI, Future of Work, ConstructionTech, and DeepTech, with checks between $500K and $2.5M. Across his career, he has invested in 25 companies, including Raise Robotics, Mitra Chem, and Positron AI. He began his career as a Systems Engineer at Emerson Electric, later working in technical consulting on industrial automation and sustainability with clients including Adobe, Broadcom, Amgen, and Genentech. He holds a Chemical Engineering degree from UC Irvine, an MBA from UC Berkeley Haas, and a Master's in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from UC Berkeley. He is based in San Francisco.
