Bill Woodward is the Founding Partner and Managing General Partner of Anthem Venture Partners, which he founded in 1999 and through which he has completed more than 50 investments across fintech, biotech, semiconductors, and enterprise software, with checks typically ranging from $1M to $5M. Before Anthem, he was a General Partner at Avalon, a $100M venture capital fund covering the West Coast. Woodward is also a serial entrepreneur with over $3 billion in combined exits, including co-founding Launch Media (acquired by Yahoo), Cognet Microsystems (sold to Intel for $330M), NevenVision (acquired by Google), and Celenex, a gene-therapy company he founded in 2017 and sold to Amicus Therapeutics in 2018 for $452M. He began his technology career in 1986 as the sole founder of Paracomp, a software publisher that merged with Macromind to form Macromedia, which was later acquired by Adobe for $3.4 billion.
