Arjuna Costa is co-founder and managing partner at Flourish Ventures. Flourish is a global early-stage fintech fund backing mission-driven entrepreneurs working toward a fair financial system, and Costa’s investing work is centered on emerging markets across Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Flourish has said it was the seed or Series A investor in many of its notable deals, and has described its average first checks as ranging from $2 million to $7 million. Before Flourish, Costa was a partner at Omidyar Network, worked on mobile money solutions at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, invested in consumer finance businesses at The Rohatyn Group, co-founded a $120 million private equity fund focused on distressed African banks, and began his career at Lehman Brothers.
