About Investor

Arjan Schütte is the Founder and Managing Partner of Core Innovation Capital, a Los Angeles-based venture capital firm he launched in 2011 to back financial services companies that democratize prosperity for everyday Americans. He invests across fintech, insurance, health IT, health and hospital services, proptech, and AI at the pre-seed, seed, and Series A stages, with check sizes ranging from $100K to $10M. His investments include Ripple, NerdWallet, Oportun, PayJoy, Kikoff, PadSplit, SynapseFI, and Atomic. Before founding Core, he spent a decade as a technology leader and general manager at venture-backed startups including Cognitive Concepts, which was acquired by Houghton Mifflin, and Capella Learning, and in 2004 helped start the Financial Health Network, where he remains a Senior Advisor. He holds a master's from the MIT Media Lab, where he was an Interval Research Fellow, and a bachelor's in philosophy and communication from Lewis & Clark College.
