Andrew Cleland is Chief Investment Officer at Techstars, the world's most active pre-seed investor, where he oversees the Investment and Capital Formation teams, leads global accelerator investment selection strategy, and directs the firm's fundraising strategy. Techstars invests in nearly 700-800 early-stage startups annually across its accelerator programs. He joined Techstars in January 2024 after 11 years as Managing Director at Comcast Ventures, where he built the firm's East Coast office and founded its Enterprise Seed Investment and Entrepreneur-in-Residence programs, investing over $100 million across big data, AI, robotics, and marketing tech. Comcast Ventures itself was folded into Comcast's corporate business division in 2020. Earlier, he was Managing Director of Investments at Time Warner, focused on early-stage media and technology. He holds an MBA from INSEAD and an MA in Economics from the University of Edinburgh.
