Amanda “Robby” Robson is the Founder and Solo GP of Modern Technical Fund (MTF), a San Francisco-based early-stage venture fund investing in U.S. and Israeli startups at the pre-seed and seed stages. MTF focuses on technical founders building software for engineering, security, and data teams, with particular emphasis on cybersecurity, infrastructure, developer tools, and data infrastructure. The fund typically writes $500K–$1M first checks and can lead or co-lead investments. MTF closed its debut fund at $22M in 2025. Before founding MTF, Robson spent five years at Cowboy Ventures, where she became a Partner, following three years as a venture investor at Norwest Venture Partners focused on applied AI, data, and infrastructure software.
