About Investor

Alex Goldsmith is Vice President of Global Scientific Engagement at Flagship Pioneering, where he supports companies across Flagship's ecosystem in establishing and building partnerships with scientific and technological innovators around the world. He joined Flagship in 2017 as Principal to Founder and CEO Noubar Afeyan, later serving as Senior Principal on the Origination team and Vice President of Strategy & Operations, focusing on company formation and early financing within Flagship's $500K to $15.0M check range for seed and Series A biotech, pharmaceuticals, health IT, and health services ventures. From 2020 to 2024, he was the founding Chief Operating Officer of Apriori Bio, a Flagship-founded biotech company developing variant-proof vaccine and antibody technology. Before joining Flagship, he was Head of Business Operations and Strategy for Pfizer's Medicinal Sciences division, and earlier worked at The Boston Consulting Group. He holds a PhD in Neurobiology from the University of Cambridge and a First Class Honours undergraduate degree in Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry from Oxford University.
