About Investor
Alex Fries is General Partner at Blitz Capital (since March 2025) and Founder/General Partner at Ecosystem Ventures, which he established in 2005 to bridge European technology startups to Silicon Valley. He is also a Partner at InnoQube Switzerland. Previously, he was Co-Founder and Partner at Alpana Ventures (2016-2021), a Geneva and Bay Area-based fund investing in MedTech, fintech, mobility, marketplaces, and SaaS, with a portfolio including GYANT, Altoida, Toposens, and Ava Women. Earlier in his career, he co-founded PlaySpan (sold to VISA for over $190M), the ETH spin-off SVOX AG (sold to Nuance Communications), SDK Biotechnologies, and PURE SWISS AG. He began his career as a telecommunications analyst at Credit Suisse. He is based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
