About Investor

Alex Baker is Managing Partner at Relay Ventures, an early-stage venture fund focused on mobile computing and consumer software, based in Toronto with a presence in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has been with the firm since 2008, promoted from Principal to Partner in 2013 and subsequently to Managing Partner. He oversees direct investments across mobile payments, applications, and services, and is an active board member and observer for companies including Influitive, ClearFit, Kira Talent, TouchBistro, TribeHR (acquired by Netsuite), Viewdle (acquired by Google), Bionym, and Payfone. He also oversees Relay's affiliate program investments in GrowLab, Extreme Startups, and Next Canada. Before Relay, he was a management consultant at BearingPoint and PwC Consulting, and began his career at The Loyalty Group helping launch the AIR MILES for Business program. He holds a degree from the Schulich School of Business at York University and is a Kauffman Fellow. He is based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
