Alan Clayton is the long-time “Roaming Mentor” and business coach at SOSV, where he works directly with startups across all SOSV accelerator programs. As an advisor and angel-stage backer, he is associated with pre-seed investments in deeptech, hardware, diagnostics, climate/cleantech, biotech, agtech, consumer health, food and manufacturing, typically in the $250K to $1M range when part of SOSV-linked rounds or syndicates. His work centers on building “human capital worthy of venture capital,” using tools like the Wholebrain Startup methodology and HBDI thinking-styles assessments to help founding teams with leadership, communication and execution. He has founded and mentored dozens of startups globally, giving him a reputation as one of SOSV’s core people-development specialists.
