Afshan Khan is a Portfolio Executive in the Hardware sector at Innovation Works in Pittsburgh. She typically backs hardware and robotics startups at Seed and Series A with checks in the $100K to $150K range, focusing on companies in the broader Midwest region. Her work includes portfolio support, strategy and mentoring founders, as well as helping run peer-to-peer forums for hardware CEOs. Previously she was CEO of Focal Point Products, an international building-products manufacturer, and she is also active as a mentor and advisor through Carnegie Mellon’s Swartz Center for Entrepreneurship and other programs.
