Adrian Smith is a founding partner at Equilibrium Impact Ventures, a firm built around catalytic funding vehicles for sustainable social impact and capital allocation to inclusive founding teams. EQIV also says it aims to support founders from marginalized communities, and foundation coverage describes the firm as investing in BIPOC-owned businesses with sustainable social impact. Before EQIV, Smith was executive director of the Flywheel Foundation and continued operating its New Ventures accelerator. His earlier work in Winston-Salem’s startup ecosystem included roles at the Center for Creative Economy, Mixxer Makerspace, and Flywheel.
