Adam Kocoloski is a Venture Partner at Pioneer Fund, an early-stage venture capital firm backed by Y Combinator alumni, investing between $200K and $300K in marketplaces, transportation technology, healthcare IT, biotech, digital health, medical devices, retail, and pharmaceuticals across seed through Series B. His day job is Distinguished Engineer at Airbnb, where he focuses on high-performance distributed systems and data infrastructure, a role he has held since 2021. He also serves on the Board of Directors of DemandScience. Previously, he was Vice President and CTO of Cloud Data Services at IBM and CTO of IBM Cloudant, the database-as-a-service company he co-founded in 2009 and sold to IBM in 2014; he was named an IBM Fellow in 2016. He holds a PhD in Physics from MIT. He is based in Boston, Massachusetts.
